Chef Martin Han pioneered the cheesecake sensation that rocked Singapore 20 years ago. Known for his mouthwatering fares, he is a legend behind these rich and creamy desserts at Amara Singapore.
"My customers' comments are the highlight of my work." says Chef Martin. To ensure that his cheesecakes are created to perfection, Chef Martin takes pride in the standard, quality and taste of his cheesecake selections. Blending all these into the mixing pot, Chef Martin has shared his beliefs with many young chefs, because "it is important for them to uphold the standards of the cheesecakes created for (their) customers.
Following the footsteps of his father, Chef Martin began his culinary profession as a pastry chef. Learning the best from the French, Chef Martin notes that "being a pastry chef requires patience and dedication because creating cakes is akin to producing works of art." he says with a warm smile.
Outside the kitchen, Chef Martin enjoys swimming, fishing and traveling. His strive for excellence and his knack for handling nimble desserts have trained him for the big scoop: a 20kg shark during one of his leisure fishing trips! An avid traveler, Chef Martin has also flew to Japan to exchange baking pointers with creators of five-tiered cakes and distinctive decorations of edible castles and beyond.
